I have watched almost every YouTube analysis/retrospective on Twin Peaks and ScreenPrism, your work is quite a few cuts above anything else out there. Kudos to Marta Ruggeri for the thoughtful dissertation about this amazing TV series that I have been hypnotized by since it originally aired. Subscribing to your channel, keep the excellent work coming. I recall sitting in a room at a production company a decade ago with Mark Frost, we were interviewing him for another project and we chatted a bit about Twin Peaks and what his and David's plans were for it. At the time, he said he doubted it would ever be back, glad he was wrong.

For anyone who loves Twin Peaks, I would definitely recommend checking out American Gothic (1995-'96). It's very similar to Twin Peaks, and, in my opinion, it's the only drama that can rival Twin Peaks in terms of artistic quality. The atmosphere, the mood, the visuals, the music, etc. is so great. Such high quality art. And yeah, the music, like I said, is amazing. Again, just like Twin Peaks.

I watched the fist series recently and I'm very confused as I feel it's 50% cool 50% bad.

stuff that were epic: town, characters, music, dialogues. stuff that were reaaaally bad: satanic stuff, Audrey/Coop romance ended cuz actors couldn't be professional, Lynch not being able decide what to do with the show.

First of all I must apologize for my english.
I was very disappointed with this series and yet so promising. She tackles subjects of very great importance, very little known and just for that, as well as the unforgettable atmosphere created by the incredible inspiration of Angelo Badalamenti, she deserves to be respected. But the subject was beyond the capacities of the authors.
It presents too many quirks, too many inconsistencies and season 3 goes even further in this logic (at one point it became almost torture for me to watch this show). There are just too many of them. Excluding the inconsistent side, what is happening is very poorly constructed and simply plunges us into some sort of whim of the authors' imagination. They create a lot of problems but failed to deal with all of them and they also failed to justify the reasons behind what is shown. The story moves forward on the basis of frequent deus ex machina and this deeply kills the value of the series. Since there are really too many abnormal (and even dangerous messages) things, below I am just sharing a few really disturbing elements:
– An old man who works in a nice hotel and who is not able to recognize a man in need when he is lying on the ground with blood flowing;
– This same old man who advances incredibly slowly and who leaves, comes back, leaves and comes back again;
– Dale Cooper who enters the motherhouse of evil without any serious preparation, weapon, protection … Like a soldier who goes on the battlefield without a rifle or even a knife;
– A man who has trouble walking properly but who manages to win a lot of money in a casino without the managers stopping him;
– A man who is clearly doing badly but nobody realizes it and they let him attend strategic meetings;
– A woman who does not manage to understand that her husband is doing badly and who brings him quietly to work;
– The characters of Andy and his wife who are really painful to watch;
– The very bad idea of stuffing a work dealing with particularly horrible and serious problems with really silly humor;
– The very dangerous idea of conveying a very bad message: Evil beings capable of creating a human being. This is normally an ability reserved for the Divine only. This is a very silly idea.
In a story that is supposed to be realistic, all these are all just outrageous.
One of the first important things in a dramatic work is precisely the creation of problems. If these are created in an inconsistent and sassy way (like in Captain America 3 and especially Spiderman: far from home), it ruins everything else. This is precisely the case with season 3 of Twin Peaks and it is a real shame.

twin teaks is summed up best by "twin perfect" and his INSANELY fabulous 4 and half hour video…. and 2 follow up videos….. the whole point of twin peaks is, quite literally… "TV rots your brain"

OMG, I remember when I was like 12-13, watching the commercials / trailers about Twin Peaks I was scared. The main theme song by Julee Cruise – Falling was perfect. Haunting & spooky relaxing feel to it. It made me drawn into more than curiosity.
Always wana know what happens in the series & asks my older friends about it but I wouldn't watch it myself cos I keep thinking ….is a trippy scary series, nope. Not watching it LOL.
Now, we have YouTube & people here explaining it, it brings back nice thrilling little memories but yet glad I didn't watch it. Looks like it would have made me shat my pants & looked confusing as fkkkk. LOL
Omg my family is intertwined w Kyle mcclaughland (pardon the spelling, I have dyslexia). My mom met him several times over the years in the late 80s. Kyle wrote and sang things for my dad's friends church. He even sang in the symphony with him a couple times. Sure is a small world!
